Pumpkin Soup for Lunch

I love Autumn, especially when it gives you the pumpkins that are ready for eating.

This pumpkin heirloom variety is called Rouge Vif d'Etampes (Cinderella). Heirlooms are the varieties that were grown many generations ago, dating back to hundreds of years ago. Although they might not be the prettiest pumpkins on the market they are grown for their excellent taste - which some of the more modern varieties lack. This is why we have chosen to plant this type of Pumpkin this Autumn so we can get extra tasty soup.
